I was not expecting a 46-minute episode here...

kinda got taken in by the plot summary but this is just boring...
no build up, no explanation of events or anything... things just happen randomly, couldn't even finish watching the episode
so yeah dropping this

Lol your comment is spot on. I tried watching it and made it to the end but found it boring for a detective anime. The case is solve before they go into it. No build up or explanation to hold the audience. All we get is the detective apprehending the criminal. It is like watching a sports anime where all we get is the medal awarding ceremony or the end game score. The setting is terrible as well. If the author went with adults instead of middle school it would make some of the scene more sensible. But seems he just threw a popular setting together with a popular character type to try and get something. This just makes the anime feel empty and the audience feel like they are missing something.

edit:- Continued on for a couple episodes and conclusion is: it is still not adequate for a detective anime but it does become more interesting as a harem + romance one. Sharp jab comedic conversation is the main selling point between the characters. It makes the anime feel more interesting. Sort of like Machigaru or SeishunButa. If you are into romance and funny interactions between the MC and FMC then this is good.

It is definitely no detective conan. Unfortunately lots of these 1 season detective shows only use it as a backdrop/ premise without actually fitting the genre. The appeal is obviously the cute waifus, self insert badass male protag. All while not allowing viewers a chance to solve a non existent mystery since clues are never given nor a goal.

Idaten (which is an actual gem for me this season), Deatte 5-byou de Battle (which is pretty mediocre, nothing special) and Vanitas (which had the potential to be amazing but its more slice of life than action which im not happy about)
so yeah nothing that catchy about this season's new animes

Well, this anime seems pretty emotionless and monotonous.. but I wonder why.. there's surely a reason why the anime is like that. It says at the end the detective is already dead, which may imply the state of the plot.. or I'm overthinking it and the anime is just plain boring ^^

The hijacking is so unrealistic. First of all, they wouldn't be so calm about it. Second of all, airlines have developed countermeasures and procedures to prevent people from breaching the cockpit and hijacking the plane after 9/11. The pilots probably have access to an emergency gun in the cockpit (one that can disable the hijacker without breaching the hull) and on top of that, if the hijacker were to take the passengers hostage it's possible they have some gas they can flood the cabin with to incapacitate everyone - it could be a risk for people with health conditions, but it would save everyone else. But in short, a hijacker most likely wouldn't be able to force their way into the cockpit due to the measures in place and the door constantly being locked.

Interesting series with potential, but it doesn't even attempt to explain how over the top it is. That style is kind of questionable.

I feel just the same way as the guy...Thrown into this show and has no idea what it about

For something that's supposed to be a "mystery" and "detective" series it has offered little to no build up to the mystery and how she the main character deduces the problem.

It ends up just being infodumps and long monologue explanations leaving the viewers just listening to her go "Oh i knew all along, here's the answer, the mystery piece of cake"
We the audience have little to no information to work with therefore leaving us with almost no investment in the story.

Chemistry is yet to be fully developed but the action makes up for where this series is lacking.

Gonna watch till episode 3 to see if its still worth watching.

The only show I've watched where only the first episode is great and the rest is just continuous meh. Everyone was so excited for this when it came out and then it was just meh. Sad

That one battle sequence was epic asf but the whole episode was a snoozefest i guess. I doubt the production will stay like this for the next episode
